Understanding Phone Call Dynamics
We had a team meeting yesterday about phone call objections.
Steph: Every time someone tells me they’re at work, I just don’t want to waste their time anymore. I don’t want to be pushy, so I try to finish the call fast! 😒
Me (thinking in my head): They give her that excuse to get rid of her!
Me: Thanks for bringing that up.
They usually say that because they think it is a sales call!
Overcoming Phone Call Objections Script
Next time you hear that, tell them: “I know I’m calling you out of the blue, but this call is about your work and your business. You got a couple of minutes?”
I mean, you’re not calling them to sell vacations!
It IS about their job and their business.
Steph: Love it. I’ll try it today. 😊

Why do some people try to end phone calls quickly when they're at work?
Sometimes people want to end calls fast because they think it's a sales call and they're busy with their work. They might feel they don't have time to talk.
How can we make sure people understand our phone calls are about their job and business?
We can politely explain that our call is about their work and business. We can say, {I know I'm calling you out of the blue, but this call is about your work and your business. Do you have a couple of minutes?} This helps them see it's not just a sales pitch.
